OpenAI Integrates ChatGPT Health with Epic EHR System

OpenAI has launched the Rosalind Academic Plan, providing sponsored access to GPT-Rosalind and associated tools for eligible academic research labs focused on life sciences. The program aims to democratize access to advanced AI capabilities for researchers who might otherwise lack resources. The initiative targets institutions conducting work in biology, chemistry, and related fields where computational tools can accelerate discovery.

Sachin Katti, vice president of compute strategy at OpenAI, is departing the company on November 15 after approximately one year in the role. Katti previously spent four years at Intel before joining OpenAI. He announced his departure via X, stating he would be moving on to build something new.

Eight US states have filed separate lawsuits against OpenAI, alleging the company violated consumer protection laws by failing to warn customers about ChatGPT's dangers and prioritizing profits over safety. The complaints reference lawsuits from families of teens and adults who claim the AI chatbot played a role in harm to their loved ones. The coordinated legal action targets OpenAI's product safety practices and disclosure obligations.
